The academic year in New Zealand lasts from early February to mid-December. School holidays are divided as follows: two weeks in April, July and September, as well as two months in summer (December and January)
The curriculum equivalent to high school degree takes place over 3 years.
Each year you can sit an exam called NCEA level 1, 2 and 3.
The NCEA level 3 is the equivalent of the High School degree (the degree you get before entering University).
You will also have the option of sitting the CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) or the IB (International Baccalaureate).
